Letter from IAMA president, Dr. Sadegi regarding Haiti's earthquake
Dear IAMA Members
I am sure that by now you have heard about the devastating and tragic act of Haiti’s earthquake. This disaster involves the deaths of over 200,000 lives and more than that number of human injuries. This catastrophic act is beyond the imagination of anybody.
Iranians have special sympathy to the Haitian Citizens as they had their own sad experience of BAM earthquake around six yeas ago.
At this time IAMA encourages the members to extend their sympathy with Haitian by donating as much as they can afford to the earthquake’s victims. This is a great humanitarian act and nice symbolic gesture.
In the critical time like this, Haiti needs money and medical assistance.
IAMA decided to transfer the fund to RED CROSS after collection. You can pay your donations on line through our secure PayPal system at our website: www.iama.org from Monday Jan. 18th or you can send your donations by check to: IAMA Haiti’s Earthquake Fund to our treasurer Dr. Baroukh Radfar’s address at 16264 Prince DR. South Holland, IL 60473.
In case that some members want to contribute their time in Haiti as Doctors Without Boarders, I would like to suggest that simple medical supplies which are most needed are: hand held battery operator cauteries, gauzes, antiseptic solutions and suture devices.
God Bless You,
Barry Sadegi, MD
IAMA President
