The Iranian American Medical Association of Illinois, established a chapter of the Iranian American Medical Association at the general meeting on April 5. 2000 in the State of Illinois. In the same meeting members of the Board of Directors for the period of 2000 to 2002 were elected and they are as follows:
The term for the new Board of Director will be for 3 years. The amount of the annual dues for the IAMA Illinois Chapter will be $25. Since then the board has had regular monthly meetings to get familiar with the IAMA bylaws and administrative aspects of the IAMA Illinois Chapter's office. The logo of the IAMA Illinois Chapter has been designed according to the lAMA's bylaws and regulations and the letterheads of the association have been developed accordingly as well. The bylaws have been amended by the recommendation and guidance of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of IAMA. IAMA Illinois has been able to have two class reunions so far. In each gathering we had several out of state classmates. On the July 27 gathering Dr. Farhang Matloobi from Iran was present. The second annual meeting of IAMA Illinois Chapter was held in a Persian restaurant in Chicago on Aug. 22, 2001, by the effort of Dr. Sadegi. Members present were: Dr. Allen Badri, Dr. Rahim Behnia, Dr. Morteza Dini. Dr. Fredrick Ellyin. Dr. Mohammad Ebrahim Ghodsizadeh, Dr. Reza Haghighat. Dr. Joseph Hakimi, Dr. Kamran Heydarpour, Dr. Manuchehr Imani, Dr. Pouran Irnani, Dr. Ahmad Judar. Dr. Hosein Keivan, Dr. Mohammad Mohazab, Dr. Rahmat Pirnazar, Dr. Parto Rezai, Dr. A.T. Rezvan, Dr. Merikh Rowshan Rezai, Dr. Godrat Sarrafi, Dr. Cyrus Serry, Dr. Ahmad Taheri. At the meeting the by-laws were reviewed and described by Dr. Barry Sadegi. After a detailed discussion the following appointments were made:
The Board of Directors has been actively involved in choosing the site, accommodations and planning of the 9th annual meeting of IAMA with the collaboration of the Board of Directors and especially Dr. Elayderani. The accommodations are in the Hotel Intercontinental Chicago at the best possible location in beautiful downtown Chicago at the best possible rate. Financial Report - IAMA Illinois
Dinner expenses of the annual meeting in Reza Restaurant was $690, which was totally donated by Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co. and provided by the effort of the president of IAMA, IL. Art work of IAMA IL's logo, stationery, stamps and mailing, expenses such as long distance phone calls, usage of the computer, copy machine, fax and office space has been donated by the office of the president of IAMA, IL. |
